Medarot 8 is a single-player role-playing game in which players collect, customize, and battle with Medarots, robotic creatures, across various missions and storylines. In this game, the story follows a new protagonist named Salt as he joins the Laurel Detective Bureau to investigate Medarot-related crimes in a sci-fi setting. It stands out with its extensive collection of over 200 Medarots, a new cast of characters, and the choice between two versions, Kabuto and Kuwagata, each starting with a different Medarot, Metabee or Rokusho, respectively.
