Emil Macko is an independent game developer who began his journey in game development around 2010, inspired by the success of Minecraft. In 2015, he created the character Candy, an animatronic, which led to the development of the popular horror game series, Five Nights at Candy's. The success of the original game prompted the creation of several sequels, solidifying Macko's presence in the indie horror genre. Notable figures in his career include collaborators Kane Carter and Sian Mewburn, with whom he formed Team EKS in 2018. Their initial project, Chef Wanted, was ultimately canceled, but they pivoted to develop CHASE: Animatronics. Macko's work has significantly influenced the Five Nights at Freddy's community, contributing to the expansion of the horror genre with innovative gameplay mechanics and character design. His studio specializes in horror games, particularly those featuring animatronics and suspenseful narratives. Macko's games have garnered recognition within the indie gaming community, and he was invited to join The Fazbear Fanverse, where he is currently working on Five Nights at Candy's 4, the anticipated conclusion to his franchise.
